Supporting Macedonia on its way to the EU

On the first session of the Foreign Affairs Committee after the summer break, European Parliament discussed with Macedonia's Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov about Macedonia's progress towards the EU and the European Commission's progress report on BiH.

As a shadow rapporteur on behalf of the S&D Group, MEP Tonino Picula gave full support to Macedonia on its way to the EU. Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov talked about the situation in his country, ahead of the referendum on the historic agreement with Greece, achieved this summer.

On the other hand, unfortunately, past year in BiH can hardly be estimated by the period of progress that hardly even exists and at the same time, political circumstances ahead of the October elections are only getting more and more complicated, Picula concluded as Head of the Delegation for Relations with BiH and Kosovo.
